Something Yellow

Missouri Spring by Linda Bratten

Today's share in the SAQA, Studio Art Quilts Associates, is Yellow.  I have just discovered that I really do not use much yellow in my projects.

This is my Missouri Spring quilt.  It was first shown in the "Call to Nature Art Show" in Jefferson City, MO.

It is a photo transfer of an original photo.  I then used free-motion quilting to thread paint the butterfly.

Now I need to go create some yellow quilts!

Something Orange

This is the quilt that I decided to share for Orange day.

Coleus by Linda Bratten

It is my Coleus quilt which is also a photo transferred quilt.  I used free-motion quilting to enhance the elements and metallic thread to quilt the borders.

If you scroll back through my blog post you will see that I use orange a lot in my pieces.

I do love sharing the back of my quilts, since it shows the quilting done on the piece.

Orange you glad I am sharing my quilts with you??

A Quilt with Red.

So this week a SAQA (Studio Art Quilts Associates) Member Group that I belong to posted a color theme request.  Yesterday the color request was red.

Since I am a day late I will post my red quilt here.

I did discover that I do not use red very often.  This is my, "Hello Sunshine" quilt.  It is a photo transferred quilt from a photo I took of my son, Nathan's sunflowers.  I then thread painted the flowers and the bee to enhance the quilt elements.

I liked this quilt so much I used it to create this for my Facebook page.

Share your red quilts with me!
Looking for my orange quilt for today,
