Quilt Block Mania-Summer Fun

Hello Summer Fun Quilters!
Vitamin Sea-Calico Scallop Block Mock Up

I am so excited to be a part of the #QuiltBlockMania today.  A special shout out to Carolina Moore of https://alwaysexpectmoore.com/ for organizing this great block hop. I am joining up with a great group of quilt pattern designers today to share with you a block that represents Summer Fun.

Coming from the Midwest, summer is hot and muggy.  So my fun memories are at the lake or even better, on the beach!

I adore going to the beach and finding treasures, thus my block is a memento of those precious times.

I combined my traditional quilting roots and used an adaptation of the Ocean Waves pattern to create my block.  I designed it to be foundation paper pieced for accuracy, since bias edges can be a real challenge.

So here is my Vitamin Sea-Calico Scallop Shell in fabric!

The center portion is machine appliqued.  I love how my Baby Lock Crescendo stitches a beautiful satin stitch to create my Calico Scallop Shell.

Want to see how I put this block together?  Join the Linda B Creative Facebook group where I will be linking videos and going live to demonstrate how I create this block.

Look for this post to join the Quilt Along!

Loving this block?  Would you like to use it in a wall hanging?
