April is National Serger Month! To celebrate, I am sharing my love of serging with some of the serger projects and patterns that I have created throughout the years. All of the projects that I am sharing have been created using my Baby Lock sergers.

Today I am going to share projects that use the chain and cover stitch.

The chain stitch on the serger embellishes the center of this potholder.

I hope that these projects inspire you to consider the potential a serger with the chain and cover stitch can add to your sewing studio.

Free Motion Couching with the Solaris

 

I don't know about you, but I am surprised that it is already April.  I just sent my newsletter, Linda B Creative, off and now I am prepping for some big events the rest of this month.  

This includes setting new goals and plans for upcoming projects.  One goal is to share more videos on my Youtube channel, Linda Bratten Creations.  I did manage to release a new video this week, so I thought I would share it with you.

I hope that you will enjoy this technique as much as I do.  I also hope my samples inspire you to give free motion couching a try.

Hello Spring!!!

The Irises are from my Faux Batik Panel Patterns.

 I love the thought of the earth waking up after a long winter sleep.  Each season has its own special beauty, but spring means flowers.  My favorite flower is the lilac.

 Not only does the smell awaken my senses, but the small little flowers have variations in color that seem to change as they open up. This reminds me that we are small parts of a larger picture, just like the lilac flower. As such we can use our influence for the good.

The SMP Virtual Quilt Fest is this Week!

 

This week is Sewing Machines Plus (SMP) Virtual Quilt Fest.  This is the third year of SMP hosting the free event.  It is broadcasted live daily throughout the week, and you can watch the replay on their YouTube channel.  In addition to the great presentations, they are also giving away prizes to viewers!

This is also my third year as a presenter for this event.  I have been able to share a variety of Baby Lock machines and their features during the event.  This year I have two spots, in which I get to introduce viewers to the Baby Lock Allegro sewing machine that was released in August of 2022.

This is a sewing only machine, but don't let that fool you.  You can create a variety of items and use a variety of techniques with this machine.  

Be sure to check out my presentations on day 1, March 13th at 1:30pm, Pacific time and on Day 4, at 9am, Pacific time. 

On the first day, I introduced the machine, and the features quilters would love with piecing and applique.  On Thursday, day 4, I will focus on free motion and quilting techniques.

The past 12 months have been a roller coaster of a ride.  Unfortunately, most was not work related, but rather other issues out of my control.  Thus, the blog portion of my business has been neglected and I apologize.

It is my hope to get back into my routine of sharing my creative endeavors with you once again.  My posts may be brief but know that I value your support and input.
