Vending at the Rooster Creek Quilt Show

 It was great to be vendor at the Rooster Creek Quilt Show, July 10th-12th. I love that my passion has become my career. This was a fabulous show to promote my business, Linda Bratten Creations.  In my booth I sold my patterns, workbooks and embroidery designs.

  At the show I did live demonstrations two times a day. On Thursday, I shared my love of free motion quilting on a table top or domestic sewing machine.  Friday was my scrap busting day where I shared how I store my scraps and then demonstrated a quick way to utilize them to make blocks for future projects.  Finally, on Saturday, my love of textile paints provided a quick demonstration for those who do not feel like an artist, but would like to try the technique.

In addition, I was able to have Rooster Creek Quilt Guild member, Rachel McKee, to assist me in the booth.  I want to give a big shout out to her for taking over when I was out of the booth!

Finishing the Paper Snowflakes BOM at Rooster Creek Quilting

This is the quilt I demonstrated techniques with.

This month I hosted my final Paper Snowflakes BOM class.  The class focused on developing and learning a wide variety of foundation paper piecing techniques.  I had a great bunch of quilters to work with and I want to share with you what they accomplished!

Rose made this quilt for her grandson's girlfriend.  She used two kits to create a larger quilt.

These are Laura's blocks, the colors in her blocks give them a strong retro feel.

Susan did a wonderful job getting all her blocks done even as she was recovering from an injury!

Marti couldn't make the last session, but she sent a photo of her finished top.  I can't wait to see it in person!

Terri is auditioning different fabrics for her setting blocks.

Virginia has everything ready to sew together.  She even managed to find a different fabric for her border.

Alma is all set to sew her block together, but there was some discussion about changing some fabric choices.  I am excited to see the results.

Beth is also exploring the option of a different setting fabric.  Her blocks have a fun 30's flair to them.

Debbie is creating her quilt for a nephew, lucky guy! The Fall colors in her quilt are gorgeous.

Donna brought a puzzle for me to solve.  I hope we figured everything out.  I am excited to see the results.

Julie brought a lot of options to the wall.  We all agreed on the bold pink setting blocks.  The inner border is open to what is available.

Judy did a wonderful job making the quilt larger by adding a decorative border piece.  I think she is a bigger Hugh Jackman fan than I am!

Next up is the Dynamic Duo!

I would like to think that Irma and Peggy had so much fun in class that they couldn't wait to create a second quilt at home.  Both did a fabulous job and here are the results.

 I apologize to Diana. I know you were in the class, but somehow I didn't get a picture of you and your quilt. 

Since this last session was optional, not all participated.  I hope that you will bring your finished tops and quilts to a Rooster Creek Guild Meeting so I can see them.

Now on to making plans for next year!

Quilt Show Tees!

I forgot to share with you the latest editions to my wardrobe.

The first T-shirt sums up my love with everything sparkling.  (I like to think it fits my personality!)

The second shirt is what the Rooster Creek Quilt Guild Volunteers were given for helping with the show.

I really like this years shirts.  It really made it easy to identify helpers during the show, and it brought smiles to the visitor's faces!

4th Annual Rooster Creek Quilt Show, 2019

Before the show I was able to interview, Teresa Cuno, the owner of Rooster Creek Quilting in Holts Summit, MO about this year's event.  Check it out here.

It was great to be able to see some great quilts, that were vintage, art, traditional, modern and some created by young quilters entered into the show. The winners of each category is posted in the Rooster Creek Quilter Facebook Group and on the Rooster Creek Quilting Facebook page.

This year I was able to have a vendor booth at the Rooster Creek Quilt Show. I love being able to share my work with other quilters.  This year I released several new patterns, including 3 new patterns that feature my Faux Batik Panel technique.

I also revamped my Little Escapes-A Day at the Beach pattern.

Finally, I was able to introduce my own greeting cards that feature some of my favorite quilts and quilted elements.

My booth was large enough to demo some of my favorite techniques.

It was great to meet others just as passionate about quilting as you are.

Thanks to Mike and Teresa Cuno, and all the Rooster Creek Quilters for a great show.  I love the new venue location.
