Vending at the Rooster Creek Quilt Show

It was great to be vendor at the Rooster Creek Quilt Show, July 10th-12th. I love that my passion has become my career. This was a fabulous show to promote my business, Linda Bratten Creations.  In my booth I sold my patterns, workbooks and embroidery designs.

At the show I did live demonstrations two times a day. On Thursday, I shared my love of free motion quilting on a table top or domestic sewing machine.  Friday was my scrap busting day where I shared how I store my scraps and then demonstrated a quick way to utilize them to make blocks for future projects.  Finally, on Saturday, my love of textile paints provided a quick demonstration for those who do not feel like an artist, but would like to try the technique.

In addition, I was able to have Rooster Creek Quilt Guild member, Rachel McKee, to assist me in the booth.  I want to give a big shout out to her for taking over when I was out of the booth!

It was great to work with the vendors this year.  Mike Cuno, owner of Rooster Creek Quilting in New Bloomfield, MO, assisted me as we did a Facebook live about the vendors. You can see the live in the next 30 days by clicking here.

If your guild is having a show and are looking for vendors or demonstrators, please fill out a contact form on my website: www.LindaBrattenCreations.com.

It is always great to share my love of sewing and quilting with others!

The Foundations of Paper Piecing Part 2

I am excited that Teresa Cuno and I were able to complete our series on foundation paper piecing.  It is a great way to get accurate piecing.  Check out our hints and tips on completing a block on the Rooster Creek Quilting YouTube Channel.

If you have never done foundation paper piecing but want to try it, be sure to check out my online class, The Foundation Paper Pieced Pincushion use this link to get there.

This is a great introduction into developing the skills to learn foundation paper piecing.

Check out what one of my students has accomplished all ready!

Alma is on fire creating this fun and useful pincushions!

Paper Snowflakes Block of the Month is Off to a Great Start!

This is my Paper Snowflake BOM done in Solid Rainbow Colors
Earlier this month we had our second class of the Paper Snowflakes Block of the Month (BOM). This is a Block of the Month designed to explore a variety of foundation paper piecing techniques. The students are doing a great job with their blocks and we set up a Show and Share Saturday Board.

The Morning Session's Blocks

The Afternoon Session's Blocks

It was fun to see the different color combinations that were chosen.  And the students did a great job, I can't wait to see what they share next month!

We have been holding the class in the new Rooster Creek Event CenterMike and Teresa Cuno have done a wonderful job in providing all that we need to have a successful class.

It is a lovely classroom to teach in.  Today I am prepping for next month's BOM.  This is the third block used to create a pillow.

Has anyone created extra blocks for other projects?

Rooster Creek Quilting, Where Quilting is Always Fun!

Three.. Two...One....Action!

This past month I was so excited to be a part of a special project with Rooster Creek QuiltingMike and Teresa Cuno approached me to be a part of their new quilting program, Rooster Creek Quilting, I didn't hesitate to say, "Yes!"

It was fun to plan and discuss our vision for this new and exciting program.  Our goal is to create a show that allows the viewers to look in on quilters discussing and sharing techniques they have found to be effective in their quilting projects.  Thus promoting our love of quilting and our favorite techniques.

The first program is sharing hints and tips to foundation paper piecing or commonly referred to as "paper piecing".

Both Teresa and I love the accuracy that you can get when paper piecing, and the variety of projects you can accomplish with it.  In fact, we had so much information to share, it will be a two part program.

So whether you are a newbie to quilting or an expert, take a moment and watch our new quilting program!

Be sure to like and subscribe to the channel to keep up with our new quilting adventure!

This month I just started my Paper Snowflakes BOM, at Rooster Creek that focuses on foundation paper piecing and using a variety of techniques each month. If you are interested, contact Rooster Creek at www.RoosterCreekQuilting.com.

Also, in my Linda B Creative Facebook Group we are working through our first Sew-Along for 2019 which is a Foundation Paper Pieced Pincushion.  Be sure to join in the group and get in on the fun!

Keeping you inspired,
